This section of the site is a guide to understanding the mechanics, themes and policies of Silent Heaven.
It is organized first by recommended category, then by topic. The box to the right will let you skip to particular categories.

2. Movement
- Go - Move from place to place in this mysterious town.
- Stop - Stop doing anything.
- Follow - Move with other characters.
- Seating - Use seating.
- Doors - Use keypad-locked doors.
- Pause - Pause your game.
- Quit - Quit the game, falling asleep.
3. Character
- Describe - View and edit your character's physical traits and pronouns.

4. Communication

5. Items
- Inventory - Managing, holding, and disposing of items.

- Search - Scavenging for food, frisking people, and finding hidden exits, items, and people.
- Currency - Forking over cash.
6. Actions
- Customize - Customize items so they look amazing.
- Creativity - Craft artwork at a studio, or clothing at a bench.
- Cooking - Craft food at a kitchen.
- Chemistry - Craft drugs in a lab.
- Food - Consume or sample food, drinks, or drugs.
- Toxins - Mix drugs into toxins, and worse.
- Medicine - Use a medical station to treat wounds, resuscitate the unconscious, detox overdoses, and draw blood.
- Eavesdrop - Listen in on conversations in other rooms.
- Investigate - Use a forensics kit to perform forensic inspections of locations, corpses, and people.
- Install - Permanently install large items at locations.
- Repair - Repair damaged items at a workshop.
- Travel - Use vehicles and vessels, if you find any.
- Chronicle - Write on paper.

7. Strife
- Conflict - How a conflict is initiated and your options.
- Reference - A quick reference for all the conflict commands.
- Perform - Prevent suffering through entertainment.
- Stealth - Blending in with your surroundings to evade detection, or assisting others in hiding, or hiding items.
- Throw - Throwing items or characters, and how to deal with thrown stuff.
8. Attention
- Journal - View and add journal entries about your character's RP.
- Bug - When you spot a bug or typo.
- Etc - The remaining commands.
9. Policy
- Discord - The Silent Heaven community Discord server.
- Inebriation - Please don't play while under the influence.
- Phrasing - The words on your character sheet are OOC info that shouldn't be said verbatim IC.
- Advancement - Gaining XP advances your character closer to the end of their story in Silent Heaven.
- History - You'll learn the history of the town by exploring it. Don't spoil it for others!
- Finding - How best to find RP in Silent Heaven.
- Safety - Your character is guaranteed various degrees of safety in certain areas of Silent Heaven. Always try to QUIT in a safe location.
- PRP - Player-run plots (PRPs) are heavily encouraged, and this is how you can get into them.
- CvC - Character vs. Character (CvC) is not the same thing as Player vs. Player (PvP). Know the difference, because CvC is acceptable, whereas typical PvP is not.
- Factions - Factions offer a variety of playstyles. Find one that you enjoy!
- Continuity - If you accidentally metagame or break storyline continuity, let those involved know so it can be retconned.
- Enforcement - The theme of Silent Heaven is enforced through IC means first, and OOC means if theme violations are egregious.
- Ignoring - You're never forced to RP with anyone, but you're not allowed to pretend other characters don't exist when in public RP areas.
- Relationships - Know when it's acceptable to engage in relationship or sexual roleplay. The comfort and safety of all players is paramount.
- Forbidden - Know what content is forbidden in Silent Heaven. Ignorance is no excuse when it comes to these topics.
- Newgame - Your next character mustn't participate in anything your previous character was involved in for the first month of their time in Silent Heaven.
- Harm - Do no intentional or persistent harm to the community.
