Clothing

Clothing covers your body and serves as an excellent way to customize your character. Your character can find additional clothes at some stores, or your character can commission a tailor character to make a custom piece of clothing for you. To wear a piece of clothing, type WEAR (clothing). For example, to wear a cloak, type: WEAR CLOAK What your character is wearing is displayed to another character when they LOOK or GLANCE at your character. To look at another character, type LOOK (name). For example, to look at Jane, type: LOOK JANE You can also see how you look by typing LOOK ME. The word "me" in a command always refers to your character. LOOK ME Clothes are listed in order from head to toe. Most clothing items cover up parts of your character's body, but accessories do not. The order that you put clothes on is the order they cover each other up. This means that if you really want to wear socks over your shoes, you can. Sometimes, you don't want to see a full description, just the basics. For that, there's GLANCE (name). GLANCE JANE GLANCE ME Glance will show a character's shortdesc, what they're wearing, what they're holding, and their approximate willpower and energy. If you just want to see willpower and energy, there's an even shorter command: HEALTH (name). HEALTH JANE HEALTH ME In both GLANCE and HEALTH, you don't need to type "me" if you want your character's info. Plus, they can be abbreviated to GL and HT respectively. GL HT When two articles of clothing cover the same parts of your character's body, only the one on top will be visible. Even if the one underneath is described as extending further, it won't be visible enough for it to appear in your character's LOOK or GLANCE description. For example, if your character has a t-shirt worn under a vest, the t-shirt won't appear in your character's description, even if their descriptions suggest they should. They both cover your character's torso, and only the topmost one will get space in your character's description. This doesn't apply to accessories, because accessories are never large enough to cover up an entire area of the body. Feel free to load your character with accessories if you want a flashy description. Fully obscuring your character's description will not make your character unidentifiable. It's a small town, so assume that other characters who know your character can typically pick up on who your character is through social clues. To hide your character's identity, level up Deception and wear a Disguise. To remove something your character is wearing, type REMOVE (clothing). For example, to remove a cloak, type: REMOVE CLOAK While wearing something, you can draw attention to it with TEASE (item). This will perform a social emote that's unique to the item you're wearing. For example, to perform the social emote of a cloak you're wearing, type: TEASE CLOAK You may wear up to a maximum of 16 items. Category: HELP 5 (Items) < Previous - Inventory | Next - Count >
