Not everything is in plain sight. Your character's Search skill is a measure of their spatial awareness. With a high enough Search skill, your character may passively notice hidden items and characters. Holding a flashlight item will help improve all searches. Additionally, you can type SEARCH to have your character perform a detailed search of a room to attempt to find anything that may be better hidden. SEARCH Some characters may take offense to you performing a search of their private rooms or establishments, so be conscious of other characters. The streets of Silent Heaven are neutral territory. They're dangerous, but it's fine to scavenge them for items. The town of Silent Heaven is full of many secrets and hidden passages. To search for a hidden path, type SEARCH (direction). For example, to search for a passage to the west, type: SEARCH W North, south, east, west, up, and down are all valid directions to search. Locations in Silent Heaven exist in a 3D space, which means that finding paths that should logically exist will benefit any intrepid explorer rather than searching every area willy-nilly in each direction. In addition to searching places, searching for hidden paths, scavenging, and gaining passive searching bonuses, your character can also search other characters to see what items they have in their possession. Searching other characters requires trust. See HELP TRUST for more information on the trust system. To search through the belongings of another character that trusts your character to do so, type SEARCH (name). For example, to search through Jeff's possessions, type: SEARCH JEFF When trusting someone to search your character, they can't take any of your character's possessions.
