Follow
Sometimes your character wants to travel with a friend, or escort them closely to protect them. Other times your character wants to tail an enemy, following from afar.
TAILING
To follow someone at a distance, type TAIL (name). For example, to follow Jane, type:
TAIL JANE
Your character will move immediately after Jane moves, keeping distance. Your character does not need to get permission from Jane to follow her. If Jane successfully hides from your character, or your character fails to keep up with Jane, then your character won't know where to go, and will stop. If your character catches up with Jane again later on, your character will follow her again.
To stop following someone, type STOP.

FOLLOWING AND ESCORTING
To follow or escort someone closely, you'll need permission from that person. First, you need to know each other's names (see HELP GREET) and then the person you're escorting needs to TRUST your character to escort them (see HELP TRUST). For example, if your character's name is Jeff, and Jane wants Jeff to escort or follow her, first Jane types:
TRUST JEFF TO ESCORT
After your character has been trusted, you can follow or escort that character by typing FOLLOW (name) or ESCORT (name). In this example, you'd type:
FOLLOW JANE
ESCORT JANE
Your character is now following or escorting Jane. This means a few things.
For following:
- Jane is now controlling your character's movement.
- Your character will move at the same time as Jane.
- Someone shooting at Jane from afar will still manage to hit Jane.
For escorting:
- All of the above, plus your character will be the target of blocks instead of Jane.
To stop following or escorting, type STOP.
STOP
Additionally, if someone is following or escorting you, you can type FOLLOW STOP or ESCORT STOP to make your entire entourage disband.
