Ignoring

IGNORING OTHER CHARACTERS Sometimes, you don't want to play with another character, or don't have the energy for the RP being offered, and that's fine. It's okay to use IC communication methods to say something like, "Not right now. Another time, please," and then move to a private location. A private location is any place behind a code-locked door, or your character's hotel room. In public locations, do not ignore the actions of another character in the same location. If your character ignores the other character, or has nothing to say, or doesn't notice the character, EMOTE that instead of making the other player wait on a response. Likewise, the ten-minute rule applies here. If someone doesn't respond to your EMOTE in ten minutes, assume the other character didn't notice you. It's okay to ask someone in OOC if they missed your message. We all miss something sometimes. You are never required to respond to anything said via whispers or hisses. You can block receiving individual characters' hisses to you, or block receiving any messages on the wind entirely. Likewise, if someone doesn't respond to your whispers or hisses, it's okay to send an additional whisper or hiss asking if they heard you. However, be mindful that we all have lives outside of Silent Heaven, and we don't have to respond immediately, or at all. Category: HELP P (Policy) < Previous - Enforcement | Next - Relationships >
